Not really very difficult to install a flow detector--just splice it into
your intake line and run a circuit up to your alarm panel, etc. I use both that
and a temperature-driven contactor for the simple reason that no flow is RIGHT
NOW whereas temperature is a relative thing and might be due to reasons other
than no raw water coolant.
