OK, Ive received some really good advice regarding sealing, priming and
painting interior wood. Now I need some more of your collective
experience. I am going to put some beadboard profile wood on the
bulkhead walls at the head and feet of our expanded bunk (was stacked
bunks, now expanded to a good-sized twin bed). I want to use a sheet
material because it will be easier to install, and I hope not to have to
re-trim the entire berth. = inch to 9/16th inch boards will be thinker
that the existing trim it will butt up to. With a thinner material, I
hope to use a small quarter-round trim to conceal any gaps between the
new surface material and the existing trim. The question is, assuming I
seal, prime and paint with good marine-grade materials (as I have been
doing on the structural components of the expanded berth) is there any
reason the MDF should not be used? It seems to me like it would be as
stable as regular wood. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
