I would use a Seagull filter.

Captain Will (you can look that one up in the archives), put a Gulf Coast
F1 toilet paper filter ahead of the Seagull filter. The elements for the
latter are very expensive and the F1 prevents them from loading up with
ordinary crud. I am planning on installing this combination on my boat
when I get a chance.
