I would suggest a mechanical timer for this. These timers typically would
replace a light switch or a fan switch in the bathroom because the kids
won't turn out the light! I have an Intermatic 12 hour timer on the fuel
polishing system. Intermatic makes timers with other timing ranges,
typically 30 or 15 minutes. Rated at 120 volts, they work just fine at 12
volts. It's a mechanical timer, so when you turn the knob you are actually
winding a spring. I'm sure there are other brands out there. Check
Grainger's or McMaster Carr, or any local electrical supply house or
hardware store.
