You have different ways to go.
1-to have a lot of spring water in pvc bottles onboard. You only use it for
drinking and cooking. You use regular water from your tanks for showers, etc.
2-you make your own fresh water with sea water through a boiler, a solution
coming from larger ship
3-you wait for the rain and you have a large clean tarp ready to collect and
fill up with rain water -the most secure-
4-you buy water (fill up your tank) only at well known places. You ask 2 time
to 3 different people what they think about local drinking water and you add
anyway a drop of clorox
Just my 2 cts.
Pierre
ps.: 5-you switch to whiskey which seems to be a a very safe practice. Sorry
coudn't resist!
