touches the coils which you can't clean properly, drains into a dirty

pan under the condenser where you can't clean, flows thru a dirty drain
tube into the bilge or sump. I see no way of keeping these areas free of
contaminates on a boat. YMMV

I agree. However since the initial thrust of the thread was whether or
not the condensate was suitable for use in the batteries, the answer is
yes. Just strain out the dead bugs, etc. and you will have pretty good
'distilled water'.
