"Oil" is a non-polar molecule, water is a polar molecule. That's why they
don't mix. While water is a polar solvent, it's not highly reactive. It's
true that it's called the universal solvent, but it won't dissolve your skin
like Nitric acid, which is highly reactive! And sure... a mixture of water
and "oil" will react, albeit very slowly. Enough chemistry on a Trawler
list. Pure water is good for your batteries, which would include DI water.
