Unless the laws of nature have been changed since I received my BS in Chemistry so many
years ago, this last posting just does not make very much sense. Water, H2O, is an very
stable compound formed when hydrogen and oxygen are combined (such as when hydrocarbons
are burned, giving off CO2, H2O, plus other assorted junk). In its truly pure state,
with all contaminants removed, water is indeed in its natural state, and not very
reactive at all! But water of any type (e.g., pure, dirty, or salt bearing) will all
enable corrosion of many metals - because the metals are reactive!
For pure battery water, go to the supermarket and buy a bottle of distilled water. That
is about as pure as you will get it without going to Fisher Scientific to buy purifiers
to produce reagent grade water (the truly expensive laboratory stuff that would be
wasted money in battery applications)
Regards,
Kevin
