Outstanding boat design, I think.. Just my opinion, of course, but I
think the look of this boat would have been changed for the worse had
the designer opted to go for forward-raked pilothouse windows. And it
would have looked even worse with aft-raked windows. The choice of
vertical windows was perfect for this design.

Based on my more or less total lack of experience and knowledge of boat
construction and systems design, the only things I saw about this boat
that I would have done differently had it been me having it built have
to do with the hull and engine.

I personally would prefer a hull and superstructure made of solid
fiberglass as opposed to the epoxied-wood laminate covered with
fiberglass. To me, the multi-layered, multi-material approach opens the
door to problems down the road. However, solid fiberglass construction
would probably add a fair amount to the cost.

I probably would have chosen a different engine, a normally-aspirated
Lugger most likely, or a small Cat.

    >From one of the construction photo captions, I'm assuming the boat has a
dry exhaust, which to me is a great feature. However, it's hard to see
in the photos where the exhaust comes out. It seems it's out the side
port side of the boat, so I'd hope the exhaust port is situated to avoid
sooting up the hull or encouraging exhaust to blow back aboard under
certain wind conditions. I would have preferred a vertical exhaust
stack like a fishing boat, but judging from the photos, that doesn't
seem to be the system used on this boat.

I'm surprised a boat of this size and design is priced at under
US$400,000. Is the construction method a big part of the reason?

Everyone who looks at this design will have some quibble or another, of
course, but I think it's one of the nicest designs of this boat
configuration I've ever seen. I can understand why you aspire to owning
    one.
