    Sorry wrong Alternator output curve link, that one was for a Welder Generator, but I hope you get the idea I intended.

    Example: If the fuel consumption vs mph was profiled and is optimized, for example at 1000 rpms, then what is the alternator output at 1000 rpms? If the alternator output profile shows max out put occurs at 3000 rpm, then perhaps an Alternator pulley modification is in order so that the Alternator and the Engine share the same rpm "sweet spot".

    It does no good to purchase a High Output Alternator if you never run it fast enough to let it do it's job. For example: Here is an output curve for a Zena 150 Amp Alternator.
