I just went through that with my tachs dropping out at 1100. The
eventual fix ( for me) was to replace both the tachs on that one side
and replace the sender unit on the engine take-off., which of course
isn't an alternator feed like yours. Check the recent archives (1-2
months) - there some good posts about alternator fed tachs, especially
some about tachs dropping out when multi-stage regulators shut down the
alternator when the batteries go into float charge.
