I've found the Bruce anchor to work in all Maine anchoring conditions.
I think that 110' of chain is not enough. In Maine, I get really
nervous when the depth sounder is showing a number less than 40 feet -
the mooring field in our harbor has 40 to 65 feet of water. It is very
common to anchor in 20 feet of water. Add 10 feet for high tide and
you've only got about a 3:1 scope. I wouldn't sleep well with those
numbers. Another 100' (minimum) will do the trick in my opinion. I
have 400' of chain on my primary anchor and 600' of chain/line as a
backup. I have never put out more than 200' of chain but I have put out
200'...
