    Folks,

This brings to mind a question that I've had for quite
a while, namely "how old is too old?"

I 'spose that coming from hardy stock I just have
never thought of slowing down until health forces me
to. Grampa milked cows by hand till he was in his
early 70's and then he got a milking machine for
another several years. When milk prices sank he ran a
flock of sheep until he was in his late 80's. He died
at age 91. Same story on the other side of the
family. Basically go hard until ya die. Most of my
ancestors that weren't killed early lived well into
their 90's. I expect - God willing - to do the same.

Based on the idea that active healthy people are just
getting into their prime R&R years by ~age 60, and in
your experience and observation, how old is too old to
reasonably expect to be able to competently hadle a
trawler type boat? (Please notice I did not specify a
    sail boat.)

    Regards,

    Leo
