A note of thanks for all those who responded both on and off list with
wonderful data for my 2004 trip to Maine. Another example of the power of
the List to spread valuable information. Thanks again.
Another question - My ground tackle consists of the following: 33# Bruce
main anchor with 110' of 1/4" High Test chain on a Maxwell VWC 800 windlass,
and a 25# West Perf. 20 Danforth secondary anchor on deck with 60' of chain
and 150' of 1/2" 3- strand nylon line. This setup has worked fine from
Florida to the Chesapeake and I have no desire to change my anchor systems.
However, because of the conditions in Maine, should I add another 100' of
chain to my main anchor?
