TWL: Raymarine

I have installed a number of new Raymarine products on customers' boats and
seldom has a problem arisen. "Operator error/ignorance" is the usual problem
since nobody wants to take the time to read the manual before trying out the new
toy. I have had to call their Tech Support on occasion (same number and same
techs as for retail customers) and have always gotten timely and accurate
responses. My experience with other vendors has not been as good.

Although I had absolutely no problems with the Raytheon gear on my sailboat
while in the Caribbean, I know other cruisers who did. There are
Raytheon/Raymarine reps worldwide (some good, some bad, I'm sure) but they are there, have
manuals, schematics and catalogs, can quickly (island time quickly, that is)
order parts and, at least, have heard of the brand name.
