David,
I am not sure, but I think the Interlux is about the same as the Awlgrip.
Maybe I should think Interlux instead of Awlgrip -- more questions?
What model Binks HVLP did you use?
Was the HVLP sprayer a conversion gun or turbine etc.?
I see 3 and 4 stage turbine HVLPs being advertised. But one problem with the
turbine is it raises the air temperature. Conversion HVLPs don't have the
temperature problem, and have the same advantage of less over-spray, but I
am not sure if you can get a small portable compressor that could work a
conversion HVLP sprayer.
I called Awlgrip and they said I need about 60-65 psi to get the Awlgrip to
spray correctly. They also mentioned Binks guns.
In my search of web sites, it seems people have been using HVLP sprayers
successfully for all kinds of paints after experimenting with various
thinners, converters and nozzle tip sizes.
Appreciate any details you can provide.
Thanks,
Al
