    I had an a number of alpine glow lights on a boat a few years ago. The 12
    volt bulbs were the same as the 110 volt bulbs (Phillips)--these were loop
    type of flurosent bulbs.

    As far as the generator. The 5.5 Coleman is a "contractor" type of
    generator and is very noisey. If you want to use a genset on the deck or
    swim step etc (with precautions for C O, fire, electrical shock etc--then go
    with the Honda EU 1000 or 2000 series--these are much quieter and the 2000
    will run any AC unit up to 12000 BTU.
