You might consider another alternative for 12 vdc lighting.
I just installed some lights from Lowes "at a reasonable price." Actually
they were very inexpensive but have standard screw-in sockets for
regular 120 vac incandescent light bulbs.
I connected them to 12 vdc (including a 1.5 amp fuse in the positive lead
just for safety) and installed a 12 vdc compact fluorescent light bulb from
West Marine. The bulbs are made by Feit Electric and cost about $15.
They put out almost as much light at a 60 watt bulb but use only 1.1 amps
at 12 vdc and do not get hot. We are very pleased with the result. I was
going to use halogen lamps but like this much better.
I've tested the lamps for RF interference on short wave and there is none.

A quick question ....
Home depot has 120V lights at a reasonable price. Socket in said light is a
smaller (halogen) type and thus will accept 12V bulbs.

Thanks in advance,
