I do have the SMX controls. What you say might be true if I only had one
A/C unit. I have four units running off one pump. Since the pump is
logically ORed with all four systems, I could loose hoses on three units
and the pump would continue to run on demand of the fourth unit. Your
are, of course, correct if the failure was at a common point like the
manifold itself.

Did the same thing on my last boat with no problem. I guess I am
getting more cautious (paranoid??) in my old age.

Most likely the dock staff would notice the deck below water level.
I found the DryAir unit to be very effective in controlling humidity
without any of the mentioned plumbing concerns, or wear and tear on the
A/C units, and reasonable efficient on the electric bill. Many people,
including myself, have also had good luck with the CruisrAir SMX
dehumidify function. Like I said, getting more cautious...
