I didn't renew my subscription to PMM - too much new product hype and not
enough do-it-yourself type information for me.

A magazine that I have really come to like is the DIY Boat Owner
Magazine -The Marine Maintenance Magazine. This month's issue can be seen
    at: www.diy-boat.com

The magazine has a good balance between improvement/maintenance articles and
new products. It also has a great reader comment section. Articles in this
    issue include:

    EXHAUSTING SOLUTIONS
Have you checked the color of your engine's exhaust smoke lately? Follow
these guidelines to do a color check to determine the health of your power
    plant.
    By Larry Blais

    CORROSION CONTROL
Use a digital multimeter or analog corrosion test meter to test your boat's
bonding circuit to prevent costly damage from self-generated galvanic and
    spray current corrosion.
    By Sue Canfield

    SACRIFICING THE ANODES
What to Buy, Where to Install

    THE COLOR OF PLUGS
A systematic approach to spark plug diagnosis can provide an accurate
indication of what is going on inside the combustion chamber of your
    gasoline engine.
    By Steve Auger

    TORQUE TECH
Here's a look at the different types of torque wrenches and how they are
    typically used in a repair.
    By Steve Auger

    DOCKING A SINGLE SCREW
A professional skipper discusses the inter-relationship of the propeller and
rudder and provides maneuvers you can do with your boat.
    By Peter P. Pisciotta

    TO STOP A THIEF
You can make access to your valuables as difficult, uncertain and
unpredictable as possible with sensors and surveillance systems for most any
    layout or equipment and budget.
    By John Payne

    INSTALLING THRU-HULLS
Follow these steps when installing a thru-hull or seacock.
    By Nick Bailey

    Columns---
    School Of Hard Knocks:
Here's an inside look at how a professional service shop repairs aluminum
toerails from minor damage to rail sections to major repairs and total rail
    replacement.
    By Nick Bailey

    ELECTRICAL
In Electro Speak: A systematic approach to diagnosis can often get you
underway again or be the logical precursor to having cost-efficient service.
    By John Payne

This issue also has the ABYC Standard H-23 recommendation for using bleach
for disinfecting a potable water system.

It is a great value for the money.
