Last fall I purchased the same meter from Radio Shack. I used it to monitor
the accumulated amp hours on both our refrigerator and freezer (110 volt
under counter size Subzeros). I did this in preparation for our new
inverter system and battery setup. The measured draw corresponds very
nicely with the actual system use now that everything is working. I was one
happy customer, especially at the price I paid for the meter ($25.00).

The biggest drawback is that it is limited to 15 amps (at least according
to the instructions) so for those with full size 110 volt appliances that
may draw above that - you apparently need something different.

No interest in Radio Shack or the Kill-A-Watt folks. Just a satisfied
    consumer. YMMV.
