    OK, now I have the picture.

    I would be concerned about the exposure of the nylon line to the
    elements, especially sunshine, on a continuous basis. Continuous
    motion, sand and salt water wet and harsh sunshine are not friendly to
    nylon line.

    I've had a number of questions about my snubber configuration, so I'll
    try to clarify things a bit. I use a 5/8" hi-tensile shackle to
    permanently attach one end of my snubber to the waterline ring
    ("permanent" means the shackle pin is wired).
