Before I purchased my boat, it had a "near" fire from
the Dickinson Atlantic. The previous owner felt the
boat getting hot in the middle of the night. He went
up to check the stove. The upper cast iron plate
(cooking surface) was glowing red! He shut off the
fuel, and opened a door near the stove. The cold air
rushed in, quickly cooling the stove. So quick that
the top cracked. He said it was like a rifle shot
going off inside the boat.
