Hello All,
In VUP, a description of one of Bob's clients self-building a trawler
includes a passage where Bob Beebe describes meeting with the owner to help
him "loft the lines" of the hull. Several times I've seen the same
expression in my few copies of "Professional Boatbuilding" magazine. I
assume this has to do with somehow defining the shape of the hull in 1:1
scale but I can't imagine how it is done. I worked for a boatbuilder in FL
when I was a teenager but mostly cleaned and prepped molds. I wasn't there
long enough to be exposed to all of the overall building process.
Would someone please describe what this entails or perhaps briefly outline
the process. I have so much going on that another trip to the bookstore
would drive me right over the edge.
Thanks so much...
