Hi all,
I wonder what insurance rates would be like if there was a "non-profit"
insurance company, specializing in boats, along the lines of your usual
501c3 corp.?

I'l bet that such a corporation could pay excellent wages/benefits which
would attract excellent employees which would provide excellent service and
coverage. And I'll bet that the premiums would be substantially lower than
what the current norm is?

Wearing my government consultant hat .... there is a reason why municipal
corporations get together and set up their own insurance pools rather than
participate in the commercial market.

I wonder where one might get enough real data to work out what a
"non-profit" insurance model/business model for the liveaboard, slow boat
community might look like?
