Thanks guys for all of the good advice
I sent the old propeller to a good prop shop locally where they will determine
its actual dimensions.
It will get balanced and reinstalled.
I'll launch with this prop and work from here once the tach guage is
determined to be accurate.
In the book Motor Yachts and Trawlers by McKnew / Parker the specifications
for this boat are for twin Cummins 210 hp giving a cruise of 12 to 13 knots
and top speed of 16 knots.
It seems that with the right prop, this boat ought to make 16 knots at full
power.
Would a single 450 hp provide the same output as twin 210 hp?
The goal is to maximize speed at the lowest power setting.
Any other thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Figuring this stuff out is
half the fun of owning another used boat.
Best regards,
