I received a few emails asking why not use 3M's 4200 & 5200 for sealing
windows.
I am not an expert; however, from the information I received from 3M, they do
not recommend 4200 or 5200 where it is exposed to sunlight -- it is not UV
Resistant.
I just checked with a product engineer again and was told if an
Adhesive/Sealant is needed for sunlight applications they recommend 3MT Marine
Adhesive/Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV :

3M does not have a product for bedding/sealing windows -- in testing, all of
their products had inconsistent adhesion to glass.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, the sealant of choice is Dow Corning 1199
