I in no way wish to offend Mr. McCorison and respect his position. However
I've found that hams are much like boaters with respect to being passionate
about "their" brand .vs. "other" brands. I have owned Yeasu, Kenwood, Icom,
Alinco -- and found them all to be about the same, including customer
service and repair. Get your license, get on the air, and buy the radio that
you like the sound of, find easiest to operate, etc.
