I believe there is a grea market for a trawler with a single large maser cabin with a roomy head, a fully function galley and a large saloon. (oh yes, and the laundry facility). I've often thought about removing the forward head and breakfast setee and creating a more comfortable boat for two.

Personally, I'm more concerned with having a boat that is comfortable for
the Admiral and I than creating the best boat for the "next guy". FWIW my
next boat (still in the dream stage) will ideally (not absolutely) have a
nice stateroom for us and a small bunkroom where we can have occasional
guests for a couple of days or weeks, but they won't be TOO comfortable and
will leave. A bonus would be an out of the way space for a washer/dryer.
If you are buying a boat for a few years use and then plan to sell it, I
suppose that resale value is a large consideration. I tend not to buy major
items unless they speak to me and I truly love them - then I keep them a
long time, so the possible loss of resale value spread out over a bunch of
years is not as important as having a boat that we both love. YMMV.
I've owned:
my boat (Annie Sez Too) - 12 years (so far)
my Harley - 22 years (so far)
my last pickup 15 years
I've been owned by:
Admiral Annie - 27 years.

Just my opinion,
