I disagree--given reputable companies and legitimate claims, an adjustor's
jobs is to settle a claim as opposed to having the process drawn out into
litigation.
Shortly after the dust from Hurricane Andrew settled I called my insurance
company to report that my boat had superficial, if extensive, damage from
having knocked down two finger piers and from another vessel's having been
blown into us. The adjustor inspected the damage and cut me a generous check
the next day.
