We even use it sometimes in the floatplane,

Great idea Marin to have compatible units so that you can switch chart
chips. I have acquired my first flybridge boat and have been considering
what to do since I have only one chartplotter and a simple handheld for
backup. (I realize this is not rocket science but the obvious sometimes
escapes me.)
I am curious about the floatplane though...do you have to hold it out the
window from time to time to acquire satellites? I have a childhood dream to
take-off and land on water in a floatplane....maybe someday.:>)
