Bob's suggestion is good as well Gregg's suggestion to pur. plastic ones.
I have done both and in addition , the last box I built it of 3/8 plywood .
That is a full box including the top. Once this is done ,to have a perfect
fit on the lid I cut abt two inches down on the sides with the table saw
all the way around the box. Bingo, a lid that fits the box exactly as just
before the last cut it was part of the box!
Instead of glassing it I took it down to the friendly pickup truck bedliner
spray on joint and had them spray it inside and out. This box holds my gas
tank for the outboard. Of course I put a chrome vent on two sides and a
drain hole in the bottom. Note all openings are covered with screens to keep
the mud dobbers out.
Just another way to the same end.
