So far, I stay where I put it.

Bruce anchors on all-chain rode seems to be by far the most popular anchor
setup on 30-60 foot powerboats in our marina (Squalicum in Bellingham,
WA.). We have a 33 lb Bruce on our boat on the pulpit and a 15 lb Fortress
(the correct size for a main anchor for our boat) on the swim step as a
stern anchor. On the sailboats in our marina, it the CQR seems to be the
most popular, followed by the Bruce. In the often rocky, weedy bottom
environment of Puget Sound and north into BC and SE Alaska, the
Danforth-type of anchor seems to be the least popular, at least from my
observations in our marina.

Until we bought it and had it trucked north, our boat had spent it's whole
life in the San Francisco Bay area. So when we bought it, it was equipped
with a large Danforth-type main anchor, which makes sense given the
muddy/sandy bottom of the bay and the Sacramento River. We switched to the
Bruce as soon as the boat arrived up here.
