There is little difficulty in making it dual band. Note though that the
thing is an intentional emitter which immediately raises a host of technical
and political questions. First off it requires a license to install or work
on it. It also probably requires some form of regulatory approval.
The biggest problem I see is that it requires other boats to watch their
radar...and I can personally testify that they do not. It might be a useful
adjunct after you install your own radar. Without your own radar I would
not go near it. First things first.
