To add to Arild's coments regarding the "blob" size of a boat on an
electronic chart:
As has been mentioned on TWL before, the charts are no where as accurate as
the positions....Many are based on areas not surveyed in twenty years...and
those that have been surveyed more recently cannot be relied on to pinpoint
rocks, wrecks, obstacles,etc to 100 feet let alone 10 or 20 feet.
