Dear Mike,
Would that it were so simple. The reason that such a wiring
diagram probably isn't available is that boats (and the way they
are used) differ so much. As you have heard recently on this
list, one simple decision, like how many battery banks to have,
can be controversial, and have different answers depending on
your electronics and useage patterns.
In order to make a stab at wiring your boat well, we would need
to know about your engines, alternators, regulators, battery
banks, inverter/charger, genset, and how they are presently
wired. Then we'd need to know a lot about your style of cruising
(how far from home, how often in marinas, how long on the hook),
and your electrical habits and useage (type of refr, freezer, air
conditioning, electrical cooking, how often you run the genset,
etc.)
If someone sends you a wiring diagram, how will you know if it
will serve your needs? It might, if their boat, equipment, and
useage patterns are similar to your own. But getting from where
you are now to where you want to be may be difficult and
expensive, if no consideration is given to the wiring you
presently have.
I know that it sounds self-serving, but you probably need some
professional help in re-designing your electrical system. Simple
questions, like how to add a backup battery to a single-engine
picnic-style boat, can often be answered satisfactorially on the
list, but your questions are far from simple. A good start would
be to buy Nigel Calder's book, "Boatowners Mechanical and
Electrical Handbook", or Charlie Wing's book on boat wiring. If
you can understand one of these books, then you have a good shot
at designing your own wiring system. If not, seek help.
