HiHo Beltoids,

For more information than you really need, visit this Gates Rubber URL:

http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=1265&location_id=558

Basically it says that the Rubber Manufacturers Association has set standards that call
for belts of the same nominal length to be within a very fine tolerance of being the same
actual length. Gates, of course, goes on to show how their tolerances are even finer.

The bottom line would seem to be that if you buy two of the same part# belts from the same
manufacturer - They will match.

BTW: This wasn't always the case. Like Larry I remember "paired" belts and the admonitions
to never use anything else on two belt applications. I guess that sometimes "They just
don't make them like they used to" is a good thing.

Modernly yours,

Alex
