Michael Schooley wrote"..."Battery water requirements vary depending on the
charge rate (amps), voltage and the age of the battery."

Which is my understanding as well:
But does anyone know WHY an older battery would tend to use more water?? In
other words, what's different from a new battery that would cause water
"usage" in an old battery?
Is it simply that older batteries require more charging as a result of
relatively lower voltages that the regulator "senses" (due to plate
deterioriation,etc)?

thanks,
Happy New Year,
