TWL: Bilge Pumps

You folks did so good on the water pump question that I'll give you a harder
one.
How many bilge pumps do I need?
Current situation is a mess. Best I can figure, there are three small
electrics (500 GPH) plus one huge one almost the size of a gallon can (1 1/2
inch discharge hose). Main DC panel has one breaker labeled 'bilge pump' (?
amps - can't get behind the panel - yet), there's a sub-panel with 3 more
breakers labeled 'mid', 'aft', and 'main' (also has a bunch of indicator
lights - 4 or 5), plus another standard 'Rule' panel with a fuse and switch
for manual/off/auto. Oh yeah - NO manual bilge pump.
Since all the bilge seems to drain aft to the bottom aft end of the keel, I
obviously need a pump there. The giant one should be located higher, just in
case. Plus a manual one (big), again just in case, with suction at the aft
end of the keel.
  Any reason I need more?
And on the same note, how about drain plugs? Should I add one down by the
aft pump? There doesn't seem to be much water collecting on the hard, but it
could come in handy if I decide to clean things up with a pressure washer.
