A few years ago I had a CRT (cathode ray tube) depthsounder/fishfinder that
cooked an internal resistor a couple of times from low voltage during
cranking. I cured this problem by connecting its supply voltage thru a
normally closed contact of a relay that was energized during cranking. Thus
the depthsounder was disconnected during cranking. A $5.00 solution.
