VERY interesting question, and one which has brought me to much thought. . .
First must be the flybridge enclosure, which has allowed us an amazing
extension to our boating season. We've been up there underway on crisp days
of low to mid 40s and if the sun is shining you need to take off that
sweatshirt! Actually, we've spent a lot of time saying to each other: "Do
you BELIEVE this?? It's November! (or December!)" Part of the pleasure must
be in the VALIDATION of all that money spent, right?
Second would be the flat panel 15" monitor that we have on our flybridge,
and which we have slaved to the laptop (running Cap'n) at the lower station.
We have this HUGE, bright, easy-to-read-in-daylight display, and we bought
the flat panel monitor on e-Bay! An inexpensive (pleasure #1) user friendly
(pleasure #2) aid to navigation (pleasure #3) that wows everyone on the dock
(pleasure #4)! It only requires us to swap "mice" plugs at the USB and we
have full control as if we had a whole new unit up there!!!
Third would be the Lectra-San toilet Hans installed in the master head.
Yeah, okay, so maybe some day we will have to change it out, but I'm willing
to fight for the right to use it (and use it correctly, with the salt tank
necessary on the Chesapeake Bay) because of the ease with which we just . .
. push the button and flush!
Fourth. . . and here we are, this is just a dream, a conjecture, a hope, but
we've JUST ordered a new mattress for the master berth, a queen-size
walk-around that at present will cripple all but the youngest and most
stalwart souls (of which we are neither) after half a night of "rest." Talk
to us in the spring, when hopefully the "spring" in our step will tell you
that YES! This was a WONDERFUL thing to do!
And yes. . . we ARE having fun!!!!
