You might want to check out the stuff made for the purpose. It is put in the
system and the engine is run for a specific period of time. It will not harm
hoses, gaskets, etc. Then it is drained and they recommend re-filling with
Extended Life Coolant. We sell it (Caterpillar) but it is commercially
available. We recommend our customers to refill with pre-mixed ELC - good
for 5 years.

I recently had a "safety seacock" installed. In the near future, I plan
to close the raw water intake and suck 4 gallons of vinegar into the
cooling system....after sitting overnight I will flush with fresh water.

My question is, if this is going to screw up hoses, impeller or anything
else?

If I'm making a mistake, please advise before it's too late.
