I used to have a MB diesel wagon. Once I did the dame thing as you. As I
remember the manual talked about mixing gas with diesel up to a certain
ratio something like 25% gas was OK. They suggested that this could be
used to stretch available diesel if it was not readily available
I would not worry about it. Fill the remaining tank capacity with diesel
and start her up.

I once rented a diesel car in France and, when totally empty, I filled
it up with gas without knowing it was a diesel (no typical diesel noise,
no smoke, no smell). It ran perfectly as long as I was on the highway.
At slow speeds I had to keep the engine over 2500 rpm. It died on a red
light, coughing for about 5 minutes before stopping. And I never told
anything to the rental agency...
