Not really. The merged hydraulic division is in Vancouver (as somebody
on the list mentioned). Their phone # is 604-270-6899. I actually talked
to a tech there this week about my older Capilano system: I'm thinking
of adding a second steering station and needed some advice. The tech's
name is Al, and he's at extension 276. Anyway, he seemed pretty familiar
with the old stuff and even faxed me a maintenance manual for my 275V
helm.
As for autopilots, I installed one this year (actually, had a contractor
install most of it). I couldn't afford the $5K+ price tags I was quoted
on setups like the Robertson, so I bought a Cetrek unit used from a past
commodore of a local yacht club: he'd used it for a few months before
buying a new boat that already had one installed. He kept the Cetrek
when he sold his old boat: he liked it so much he was going to install
it on the new boat but then decided the existing one was OK.
Anyway, I got it complete with _everything_ including remote for $1,500
(it was about $3,000 new) and the installation ran me about another
$800. The only problem was that we installed the pump in the pilothouse
since that was easier: the pump makes a noticeable noise when jogging
(not when steering) and thus should have been mounted back near the
steering gear.
