Subject: TWL: Pooh's Progress

I must sincerely apologize to several TWL folks who have invited
us to stop by on our way home, and we have run short of time. We
had hoped to visit with the Werts, Demos, and Rich Gano in Panama
City, but ended up spending our short time there working on the
trawler of Larry and Terri Brown, who we met in Madisonville, LA.
The Browns are preparing to leave shore life next summer, and
are blessed to own two trawlers, one of which has to go. Since
"Tortuga", their 34' Marine Trader sedan, would not start due to
battery problems, the situation was critical. The situation has
been sucessfully resolved.
Last night we crossed the Gulf from Apalachicola, FL to
Clearwater, a distance of 192 SM in 24.5 hours. Conditions were
unpleasant, with a 15 kt beam wind and 4' seas for most of the
crossing, but we're here and headed on to warmer climes.
