Kerry, I added a 24v alternator to my 32v Hatteras. Works fine, charges my
inverter battery bank. Remember a new voltage regulator, oil pressure switch
to turn it off and on (at least that9s how mine was switched), and you will
need to recalibrate the tachs. Then you have a spare 32v alternator which,
of course, is worth more than your dinghy!
