TWL: Fuel Burn nad formulas

I've read (for the last week or so) all these different formulas and
calculating fuel burn and no one has the right answer. Each boat even it's
by the same mfg. and with the same engine or engines will be a little
different. The only way to get the exact fuel burn on your boat is to: Fill
the tanks to its maximum, take out across the ocean until you run out of
fuel, then you will know exactly what your fuel burn per hr. will be. Or
like I did, I took a dipstick sounding after about 4 hrs of running,
figured I burned about (without a calculator) 3.5 to 4 gal per hr. and I
can live with that.
