REPLY
I asked several of the megayacht builders that I see regularly as well as
a small yard.
They all said the same thing. Set the toe in for 1/2" with the trailing
edge being closer by that amount compared to the leading edge of the rudders.

Since these rudders are all roughly the same size as what a trawler uses
I consider this valid data.
None professed to using a complex scientific formula; only a rule of
thumb.
