Hi Rick,
Not exactly home made, but I have mixed oxalic acid and soap and also used
Zud cleanser (Wal-Mart store) both were excellent. The Zud is mildly
abrasive but it cleans very well.
I have also used "New Glass" made by a guy locally here in Palm Coast --

The New Glass is expensive, but once applied it lasts easily over a year and
will eliminate the 'waterway moustache' from forming -- at least in my case.
