TWL: VHF causing GPS to go no fix

Subject: TWL: VHF causing GPS to go no fix

On Sally Lillian I have a Skanti DSC VHF, whose antennae is within .7 of
a metre of the GPS antennae. I have 2 Raymarine WAAS GPS's, both of
which go into "No Fix" after approximately 20 secs of voice transmission
by the VHF. I had assumed it was the close proximity of the antennae.
However I have been advised that this is unlikely and more probably that
the cabling from all three runs in the same cable tray. Both
explanations are a pain to fix so I would appreciate any informed advice
from anyone with some experience of this phenomenon. Thanks in
anticipation.
